NEXT LECTURE: 25 November at 17.00: Evolution (part of Introduction Self-organization) presented by Hans Abbink (CEO of Almende B.V.).

Course 1 is called An Introduction to Self-organization. This course is for everyone who is interested to gain insight into the concept of self-organization. The course will touch upon subjects such as systems theory, information theory, networks and evolution. The lectures will be presented by Hans Abbink.

Course 2, a follow-up on 'An Introduction to Self-organization', is called Elements of Self-organization. This course will zoom in on the specific principles and mechanisms of self-organization. This course will be given by Peet van Tooren. Topics in this series of 13 lectures will be a.o. feedback, adaptation, forecasting, emergent properties and escalation.

Lectures

Both courses consist of 13 lectures, to be held on Tuesdays at 17.00. The lectures will be held at the Zweedse Kerk (Parklaan 5 - Rotterdam). A complete schedule of the courses can be found on the Course 1 and Course 2 pages. The lectures' presentations will be available on-line in due time, as will be the recordings of each lecture.
